The Department of English is offering two fully-funded PhD positions in English Linguistics. Closing date for applications: 18 April 2017.
The Department of English at Stockhom University has an international staff engaged in a wide range of research projects, as demonstrated by the Department’s record of international publications and the Faculty of Humanities’ recognition of our leading research both in literature and linguistics. Linguistic research interests among our members of staff cover areas such as academic and professional uses of English, varieties of English, language variation and change, English as a lingua franca, and sociolinguistics. As a PhD student at the Faculty of Humanities you have the opportunity to participate in the Faculty’s Doctoral School, which offers themes and courses characterised by interdisciplinarity and cooperation across subjects. The Doctoral School also gives you the chance to improve the quality of your education thanks to the interchange provided by the community of PhD students from other subjects and departments.
