“Writing for publication in English literature and linguistics”, a workshop for PhD students at the Universities of Stockholm and Wisconsin-Madison, took place on 9 and 10 June and resulted in a productive exchange of ideas between major journal editors and junior scholars. Peer-review sessions and the panel discussion with  the editors Rita Felski (New Literary History), Ken Hyland (Applied Linguistics), Timothy Yu (Contemporary Literature), and Richard Begam (formerly Contemporary Literature) provided the participants with new insights into journal editorial practices, manuscript submission and revision, and peer review. Fourteen PhD students of English literature and linguistics took part in the event. The workshop was organized by Maria Kuteeva and Claudia Egerer and supported by internationalization funds allocated by the leadership of Stockholm University for the development of research collaboration with strategic partners (SEK 100,000).
